@leehop71 Hi !! I have some manageable side effects so far at 300. I’m hoping to get to a therapeutic dose without anything serious happening. I really need this to work 🙏 I need my life back or at least some of it!🙏
@rosac
I hope you can achieve your goal. As I mentioned earlier I can only tolerate 300 mg at night. So I am tackling other ways of managing. I know that does not work for everyone, though. So much of it is trial and error. And finding what works for you.

My mother, brother, and myself suffered with sciatica pain and all 3 of us were/are on 600mg with the pain completely gone with little and manageable side effects!
(My mother passed in 2019)
Now I do know a friend who went on gabapentin and her feet started spasming and she had to ween down and stop taking, but she’s the only one I know personally that had that kind of side effect.
I have severe neuropathy from a cerebrospinal fluid leak or CSF. I have gone undiagnosed for close to 25 years. Of course, I live in New Mexico which has the worst medical support in the nation. I cannot begin to relate to you the pain I'm in and all the other symptoms that go with it. Please look it up to understand. It's severe and it all started from getting rear-ended and getting severe whiplash. So, if you got whiplash, beware. I am on 2400 mg. of gabapentin daily. A DAY! It helps tremendously but not enough. I am also on 90 mg. of oxycodone, and I don't know the mg. of muscle relaxers, it was Soma or caraprisadol and now it's tizanidine. Fortunately, I metabolize it well and am fully functional but seriously disabled. I am looking at brain and cervical surgery, and I'm scared to death and I'm one tough lady. I have had my entire life dissolved. Job, activities, and I had a bunch...even my 34 yr. marriage. It's been hell. I'm here if you want to talk. God bless you and I will pray for you.
Yes, up to 900 mg per day right now for severe pain from Polymylasia Rheumatica (PMR). It has helped so far, but I'm hoping to eventually come down off that once I go into remission.
@joan7 I'm on 2400 mg daily! It's for CSF. I have a tear in my spinal cord from the C6-C7. Also, my neck has been diagnosed by a neurologist and neurosurgeon as toast. You have no Idea the pain I live with. I also take 90mg. of oxycodone and 700 mg. of carisoprodol. Fortunately, I metabolize it well. I am looking at brain and neck surgery, and I pray it helps and is not like Ozzy Osbourne where it made it worse.
@leehop71
PN is pudendal neurolgia. GABA has not taken away the sciatica. I was up to 2800mg a day but have been doing a slow wean and I’m down to 600mg. Now have terrible restless legs and constant headaches. I’ve been on it about 2 years. Did not help my severe pain either

@rosac Is it sciatica pain you are dealing with?
I know, for the most part, this works well for sciatica.
@leehop71
No it’s for PN but I do have some sciatica. GABA not helpful at all. Weaning off it

@sapphiregirl What is PN? I know that gaba sometimes does not do well for anything beyond sciatica.
GABA hasn’t taken away your sciatica?
Dosage?
How long have you been on it?
@leehop71
Hi Leehop71

@sapphiregirl WOW! You must have something big going on causing that nerve to really be pinched?😳
@leehop71
Probably but until the doctors figure it out, I’m forced to deal with it.
