Is 2 months average to have your kidney removed from RCC?
I have hemorrhagic renal cell carcinoma that is 8 centimeters. I saw an urologist yesterday for surgery. She told me that she is scheduling 2 months out because they are backed up. Am I the only one who thinks this is too long to wait. I have pain in my lower back that shoots down to my leg from it rubbing on my spine. I also have terrible exhaustion. My aunt and I think that it should only take one, maybe two weeks. How long have some of you folks had to wait. It could spread and I am suffering. I cannot imagine doing this for 2 months waiting.

Kidney removal surgery was rather smooth. My incisions were sore and it took about 2 weeks to sit/stand up completely but not a lot of pain or discomfort. Within a month I felt great!
Yes, I changed my diet intentionally (since I want to keep my one kidney healthy) and unintentional. Lighter smaller portions are better. I don’t eat any heavy foods. I eat rather bland and healthy. It’s easier to digest.
Overall, removal and food changes were very easy to adapt.
Anyone know if a renal cyst to be cancerous I'm awaiting mri to find out for sure the ultra sound said it was a simple cyst it's 4.5cm and the cat scan said it was a renal cyst but they ordered a mri because increased values on cat scan just wanting to get some thoughts about this
Every body one here that's posted I have really took everything in and I can relate and it has made me feel a lot better hearing everyone's story I hope all of you are doing well and my prayers go out thanks again for sharing your journey

It will be in your best interest to wait and see what the MRI has to reveal to you. Cysts can be funny creatures, acting up then going away. Your doctor will be able to put all the results together and figure out, with your input, what the next steps may be.

@richardgriffin I have had numerous cysts on my kidneys. One was thought to be cancerous, and was followed for more than a year. The plan was to remove the kidney once I started on dialysis. The urologist eventually concluded it was not "acting like a tumor" and could not concretely diagnose it as RCC. So, we have chosen to monitor from time to time, now.
I will most anxious to hear what the results of your MRI are.
