Iron level normal; WBC, RBC, FERRITIN, HGB, HCT are Low

I am being scheduled to receive iron infusions however my Iron level is normal. My WBC, RBC, Ferritin, HGB, HCT and Absolute Lymphocytes are LOW. My MCV, MCH and Neutrophils are HIGH.
If my iron level is normal why would I receive iron infusions? Can these iron infusions be harmful to me? They are concentrating on my liver and I know I have fatty liver which I blame on the use of Rousuvastatin for 22 years despite my total cholesterol being 142 (my VLDL is also out of range low). My B12 readings are normal.

I presume the blood study results you offered came from your PCP or your GI doc who ordered the tests? Have you been referred to a hematologist yet or is your GI doc leading the charge? These results need to gone over with a specialist. This is a Fatty Liver Disease site that may help you understand more about your illness.

No, the results are from the Oncologist/Hematologist. The Dr. wants me to go through iron infusions despite my blood test showing a normal iron level. Ferritin is out of range low. That said too much iron can be toxic. I have contacted a second hematologist whose residency was at Mayo.

Not being a doctor let alone a hematologists you are asking rather technical questions pertaining to human blood products. Have you asked these same questions of the hematologists? A second opinion is a good idea but get your question answered by the original doc so you can compare apples and apples.
