Iodine contrast allergy

i’m scheduled for an angiogram in a couple days and scared about iodine contrast. I had 2 reactions to the dye - the last one after the so called premedication. they’re telling me the procedure can only be done with iodine. i’m seeking a second medical opinion and checking here to see if anyone has the allergy and also had the angiogram

Talk with your doctor.
I can’t have dye as it affects my heart.
Write things down so you don’t forget your questions.

I’ve been prescribed prednisone for several days before the procedure.

I too react to dyes.
When I was in the ER the doctors gave me two drugs and then they had one hour to get the test done.
Don’t remember the drugs but it worked.
I was scared about it as I was there because of my heart and dyes make me go into attack acardia.
Ask questions and if you are Uncomfortable stated and ask for more information.
