Info on raising water heater temp
On the NtM forum Dr Falkinham also said we should be alternating our temps back and forth between 120 and 130 to avoid the bacteria “selecting” for more heat tolerant organisms. I didn’t get why this would happen since the higher temp is supposed to kill it, but I’m doing it every 3 weeks anyway. I wasn’t happy about this info, but info is info. If u want to see more abt this, go over to the NTM forum and find the discussion. If anything g has changed PLS let us all know!!

My father's hot water has been set too high for years. He has dementia now and I did not realize how hot it was and I don't want it to burn him. Is 130° to best top heat temp even in his case and does anyone know how to physically turn this down on his water heater in the basement?
@jendisney7 The water heater should have a gauge of some kind. Mine doesn’t have temps but letters. B is the 130 degree mark, I am assuming, and I go down to “A” every two weeks. If his water heater has no gauge, call the manufacturer to get information.
I keep mine at 140, should I be turning it down?

How *often did Dr. Falkinham say to go between the 120 & 130? Is it the 3 weeks you are doing?
I saw that he recommended every two weeks.
