Info on Klotho renal awakening drops?

Posted by ldrlaw @ldrlaw, Jun 5 6:35am

Always a possibility of a scam on the internet but I saw information on Klotho renal awakening drops that looked promising and it said it had been approved by the FDA (although perhaps for a different use). Mayo did a study on it. Is it being used anywhere for kidney failure? Thanks!

My husband has CKD and saw these drops supposedly on an ABC (Australia) newscast. I did some research, found the original newscast on the ABC Website and surprise surprise, the information they were highlighting was on a totally different product, and whoever is running the "awakening drops" had inserted their product into the broadcast. This is so disappointing if you are looking for some hope. Buyer beware.

Thanks for the info, 1st, I hope the best for your husband. 🙏
I am a kidney transplant patient since 1991, with a cadaver lowest match, was the 3rd patient to go into a medication research program for kidney transplant at UOPMC, named FX-506 today Tacrolimus (Prograf). Now 33 years later I’am in stage 4 CKD and read about this drops, so I rise some hope to extend my old kidney function. I’ am very interested in tryouts for new medication under R&D, if there is no chance, I will go for my 2nd kidney transplant ASAP, this time hopefully forme my wife. We are planing to go for the match protocol by October 2024, time we got an appointment to do the tests.
Again thanks so much for your reply. 👍

Hi, just happened to see your posting. Research with Stem cells are being used on kidney transplant patients in a couple are large major hospitals in US and possibly in other countries. The donors stem cells are given to the patient receiving new kidney prior to surgery.
. These stems from the matched donor, I believe from a sibling or parent, or the recipient's child. IT's my understanding several hospitals in US are using stems cell as part of research. This allows the person receiving the kidney not having to receive anti rejection medication are are tough on the person receiving the new kidney. Investigate in your area or look up on internet.. Stem Cell / kidney transplant patients. Best of Luck

MOST welcomed, sadly far too many people know about this information. If you have a donor that is from the immediate family and they are in good health. Theres lots of criteria to qualify for a donor to qualify to donate a kidney. The younger the better, My relative was 65yr old and in good. health no predisposed medical conditions. Just type in Stem Cells used in Kidney Tranplants in US Hospitals. THE major hospitals will be listed. The more your nephrologist supports you the better. Sadly some don't even know about this new research. Testing for the kidney donor is vip to rule out health status and other condition that will qualify the person or eliminate them from being a transplant candidate. Best of Luck. I wish the world knew. Sadly, Stem Cell I believe the the medicine of the future.. You just have to make sure people go to legitimate medical hospitals and doctors. Stem Cell hold great promise for many conditions.
Again best of luck
