Inflammatory arthritis

I have recently been diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis and am struggling to get relief. I’ve tried hydroxychloriquine which did give some pain relief but caused my depression to basically bottom out to the point of wanting to have myself committed. I would like any advise I could get to help cope with the intense pain of this disease. I’ve also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Is inflammatory arthritis an autoimmune disease in itself or just a general term used for widespread inflammation with no known cause?

Systemic inflammation affects every organ system in our bodies.
Your lab numbers should guide treatment so be aware of all results.
If you are seeing a rheumatologist they should have other options
for relief. Consider Mediterranean diet and have your cardiac risk
assessed for prevention. Some SSRI anti depressants have a positive
effect on lowering inflammation causing cytokines in the brain.

jonesc, Has your doctor tried Mobic with you? It is the least hardest on the gut & reflux as far as an NSAID goes.
You may want to ask about this one.

I've been doing well on the Advil Dual Action (acetaminophen and ibuprofen in one pill). I have stomach issues with ibuprofen alone, but this is okay so far. Amazon has a generic that will save you a lot. The pills are exactly alike, even the printing. It is likely a business like Perrigo makes both. Good luck!

I've been doing well on the Advil Dual Action (acetaminophen and ibuprofen in one pill). I have stomach issues with ibuprofen alone, but this is okay so far. I am also on hydroxychloroquin, and I feel like I have arthritis in my knees and legs. I too have been very depressed because I have been diagnosed with Scleroderma. I am also taking Sulindac to help with osteoporosis.

Haven’t tried the Tylenol+Ibuprofen yet. Using Aleve gels like candy and doesn’t seem to last. Thought about stacking the different nsaids, so this may indeed provide relief. I’m also taking Hydroxycloroquine 40cg/day. It’s been 12 weeks. I’m waiting? I’ll do another month then try something LDN. I too experience knee and muscle pain. Right now I’m testing with ice packs, which help after too much activity… which really isn’t much compared to life before this.

Mobic (meloxicam) does nothing for me. I've tested that 7.5mg), daypro (600mg), and ibuprofen (400mg x twice a day). The ibuprofen works best and has the least stomach upset as long as I take it with food.
