Inexpensive lodging near St Mary's: Please help!
I need to be in Rochester near St Mary's hospital for about 14 days while my husband undergoes open heart surgery. His surgery is scheduled for 11/29/24. We are from out-of-state. I need more information about inexpensive / charitable / nonprofit housing. I see 3 places - for transplants, cancer patients, and RMH for children & families. Are there others? We cant afford even a cheap hotel - even $100/night will add up to over $1400.00. Is there anything that might be less than half that amount? All suggestions are appreciated. I have no idea where to stay. It's too cold for me to be sleeping in our car!!!!

I would contact Mayo's free concierge service to see if they can offer suggestions:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/minnesota/concierge-services
You can contact by phone or email:
By phone 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday: 507-538-8438
Email: concierge@mayo.edu
Another option might be AirBnB for a room in a private home.
Hope all goes well for your husband.
@marska124, I have included a list of non-profit lodging options we have in Rochester. There is also a chance your insurance would help cover some of the expenses. Depending on which state you are in, there may be a little help that you can get from your county, you could reach out to them as well and see if they have any services that can help.
I hope there will be one of those services that can help you.
