Incontinence caused by pain or nerve injury?

I had total 2 Total Hip Replacements last year. I had developed incontinence (leaking not total release) over time prior to THR. After the first THR, incontinence got better. Post 2nd surgery (days) it came back. Now months later, very rare leakage - usually only when I am in pain, ill or weak/shaky in general. Has anyone else seen a link between chronic incontinence and chronic pain? I also saw a difference when I had a spinal laminectomy.
