Inactive bladder with NO elasticity remaining

Does anyone have a diagnosis of an inactive bladder (completely stretched out) with no elasticity left in it??

Yes I irrigate the bladder before bed with a saline solution and acetic acid mixture! Started doing it with a neomycin/polymoxin and saline solution, but was unable to get this antibiotic, so now use the acetic acid mixture with the saline!

Hello
I just started to self cath a few months ago and have absolutely no problem with it. I live in a beach town in Mexico and a bag really shouldn’t be worn with shorts on. I some days forget in the afternoon to cath and only do it 3 times a day. The doctor says I should do it 5 times a day. I don’t really understand why. Does anyone have an understanding of why we are supposed to do it 5 times a day?

If you don't want to cath at all or maybe one or two times a day........go to Mayo Clinic!!! If you have an enlarged prostate a HoLep procedure can be done. Dr Wymer performed it on me and I can now empty my bladder completely and only have to cath once in a great while. There have been a LOT of prayers on my behalf and I give God the glory for this amazing recovery. I was cathing 4 times a day.........NOT any more. Dr Wymer at Rochester, Minnesota. My family physician referred me to MAYO. Check it out!!!

Thanks very much for sharing your experience. I have no indication of your gender, but I’m not sure I could accurately identify my fairly well-hidden urethral opening. I find myself wondering if it isn’t easier for males because of the more obvious anatomical access. Any observations from other women will be greatly appreciated. I’m currently satisfied with my ability to empty using a combo of ( diminishing) muscle control, gravity and positioning my upper body and torso to apply natural pressure to the bladder area. I’ve also started doing Kegels every day, which should help?

If you have bladder problems.....stretched bladder with no elasticity, GO TO MAYO IN ROCHESTER MINNISOTA. Dr. Wymer can help. I'm a male, I had an enlarged prostate, and he did a HoLep procedure. I no longer have to cath but once in awhile.

I did a Urolift and after the operation, I could not get my bladder to respond. I was told because of lost elasticity since it was stretched out. It worked (semi) before the operation but has shut down since then. So I have been self cathing which I am used to but it is something you always have to worry about. I was told the next step (if I wanted it) was a TURP and possibly some mechanism to shock the bladder. I am hesitant in doing so as there are no guarantees for it to work and right now the sex part (even self cathing) is good. I don't want to take a step backward or have regrets. I have been self cathing for about a year....anyone experienced this? Hoping there will be something else coming out to relieve this.

I’m a male. My prostate was very enlarged. The HoLep procedure made my prostate smaller.
Does this sound like your problems?
