There are several different drugs in the treatment, all with different side effects. My oncologist prescribed granesetron to take just prior to starting one and I was also given a shot to help minimize/prevent the nausea/diarrhea. They helped. Extreme sensitivity to cold -drinks, air temp, you name it - was another side effect. It should improve before each treatment - let nurses know how you are feeling - they can often help, with either meds or tips. Exhaustion and low energy were my worst issues. Dosing can be adjusted. It is a tough treatment - everyone has their own experience - different tolerances. For me, it was all worth it to still be alive! Best wishes.

I get zarzio shots in between chemo if wbc warrants it. When needed, we did two days in a tie before chemo. Looks like there are other options too.

I also had those injections but they did very little to nothing to help boost my immune system. Nothing really has helped. I know I need to improve eating habits.

I’m expecting chemo after the Whipple surgery. I am getting chemo now before Whipple. So, post Whipple Chemo.
