ibuprofen and acetaminophen combo helps?
While my doctor doesn't want me to take NSAIDS, he said maybe occasionally it would be ok. Acetaminophen maybe helps maybe 10%, I always used to use aspirin before doctor said no, so wondering if a combo medication would work occasionally?

For my back pain, it does not make a difference if I take Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen(Advil) or Naproxen Sodium (Aleve) together, and neither helps me taken alone. For other issues it has helped me, such as with the reaction to the very first COVID vaccination. Since Acetaminophen helps some, it would make sense that taking a NSAID with it would help, especially if the NSAID helps alone. The other thing to consider is taking them in an alternating fashion. For example, take the Acetaminophen first, then halfway thru the dosage period, take the NSAID, then take more Acetaminophen when it is due and continue alternating them. All of that said, let your doctor know since he/she does not want you taking NSAIDS often, they are hard on the kidneys while Aspirin is hard on the stomach.

2 ReactionsI can’t say what will work for you, but for my back pain I take Meloxicam 7.5 mg twice a day. In addition, I alternate taking Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen every three hours. So I’m taking Ibuprofen every 6 hours, and I’m taking Acetaminophen every 6 hours, but staggered. I would check with your doctor about this before making changes.

1 Reactionmy oncologist said no to meloxicam.......tylenol yes NSAIDS no
I have heard from others that they like the combo- more effective and/or fewer side effects….ask your doc if unsure.
Dr said I can use combo acetemephen/ibuprofen occasionally. I used for first time on Friday and it's like a miracle......really killed the aches/pains I was having

1 Reaction@indyanthony I think the typical dosage of Meloxicam is 15 mg once a day. So, splitting the tablet in half and taking it then 12 hours apart makes a lot of sense.
