I suspect my daughter has Brain Cancer, the ER doctors said S2 Cancer

My daughter went to ER about the end of March for a severe Stomach pain with Diarrea and Vomiting, she was informed that there was a Mass in the bach bottom of her head by CT Scan and MRI that had grown since last time she was there. We we were refered to a Neurosyrgeon that told us it was just a dot, to go to a neurologist who will not see her until her account is settled with financial aid( which has being a challenge). 1 week later while she was traveling for work(her boss hasn't paid her) the Neurosyrgeon emailed to urgently go to the Oncologist. She immediately made an appointment, at this point we are in Mid April, the Oncologist told us to wait until the end of May to do an MRI to check for Growth that she wasn't concerned. We couldn't go for financial reasons, trying to get the Financial Approved. She wasn't doing good but refused to go the ER, she said they are not going to do anything, they are going to say I'm there for drugs that is not the case. The Monday 8/27th I noticed her left eye Bright red, which she said she was going to the eye doctor for new prescription on 8/29th. The Eye doctor when she informed her that she suspected a small stroke because of her eye, she looked at it and send it to the ER. The ER Dr. that saw her informed her without her knowing that her chart showedc that she had S2 Cancer ( He didn't know, she wasn't aware of it). So the ER did a CT Scan and an MRI, that show not only the Mass has grown but there were 2 more Massed formed 1 - top of her head and 2. on the side of her left eye she had recently hit when she triped over her dog. She was admitted to find out that her liver is degrading due to Medications ( she takes a lot for pain). The Did an Stomach Scop and a colonoscopy for the Stomach pain and Liver. Biopsy of the Liver and Intestined according the Hospital Dr. it was supposed to take 72 hours but the very next day she was discharged without Medication without being winned out of the medications. When I ask him about the Biopsys he said that everything was fine. My concerned is that nobody is looking at the head, just the somach. We are at a lost because she doesn't have a Primary Internist, and Nobody will see her without insurance and we don't have the Money to pay. I may also add that she has Luppus diagnosed on 11/27/2020 and is in Remission for Renal Carcinoma since 10/2022, this was diganosed on 8/2021. Please help what should be my next step! My Daughter is not doing well and when researching online my daugher has all the symptoms for Brain Cancer and Liver disease.

Im so sorry for you & your daughter/ and the struggle to get accurate diagnosis and specific treatments!! Since you're worrying about her head and have a recent MRI it seems like trying to see a neurologist would be next step. Just see if you can get in (preferably at Mayo, but any teaching university hospital could likely help) and have your MRI sent before appt so the neurologist can be given recent data. Look into getting help from a patient advocate so you can get assistance financially if thats an option - most places have a social worker or someone who can help navigate the insurance and financial stuff!! And don't t forget to take care of yourself;) sleepšŸ™šŸ«‚šŸ™šŸ«‚

yaucochick@yaucochick, I am so very sorry to hear of these overwhelming difficulties, that your daughter is facing. Your daughter needs advocacy, from someone who cares and is willing to help! Perhaps, setting up a ā€˜fundraising, go fund meā€, would be something to consider! Perhaps getting your daughterā€™s story told, through a media personality, would bring an awareness of the needs of helping seriously ill people, needing financial aid, would be another way you could get help! I ended up having to go in debt, to the tune of $6000.00 because I lost insurance coverage earlier this year! I, unexpectedly became very ill, and the medical personnel at the hospital would not treat me, or help me, till I came up with cash! It was a nightmare for me! So, I understand how difficult this must be for you, and your daughter especially! Applying for a foundation grant may be another idea, for you to consider! Good luck to you and your daughter!

I agree that trying a gofundme appeal makes financial sense. Iā€™m not sure what the next medical step should be. But people in the U S understand and sympathize with unexpected and hard to pay medical bills.
