I need help with Inogen G5 and dry nose and throat.
My Dr. recently prescribed oxygen at night. The trouble is, I wake up at 3 or so with extremely dry nose and throat. I have no idea how to add humidity.
Since it recirculates the ambient air, would it help to run a humidifier in the room? It makes sense to me. Has anyone tried that?

You need a whole home concentrator they have a humidifier you can attach to make it moist. The entogen is mainly for being able to leave the house. I have both, I don’t need moisture but I know my machine has the attachment if I needed it.
I avoid adding any humidifier to my supplemental O2 system as I feel it’s a way to increase bacteria levels and I know I hate extra cleaning & sanitizing.
I have only seen humidifiers added to continuous flow machines and they are supposed to be cleaned/sanitized regularly.
I have a continuous flow concentrator for sleep and the G5 only for activity and altitudes. I have difficulty sleeping with the G5 because it only delivers pulse. I sleep with 2 liters/min continuous flow instead and it works well.
For the dry nose, you can use a water-based gel. For the dry throat, might it help to tape your mouth shut when you sleep, using a mild adhesive tape? My daughter does that and feels it helps her.
Thank you so much. My husband would love for me to tape my mouth shut, so I won't share your comment with him. 🙂
Thank you. I appreciate that.
