I Have PN In Legs. Now my face, arms scalp feel buggy too. Neuropathy?

Posted by SusanEllen66 @SusanEllen66, May 22, 2023

Hello everyone,
I feel like I have tiny bugs walking on my scalp, face, and arms. It’s driving me nuts. I keep checking for bugs, but there’s nothing.

I’ve had PN since 2016 in my legs and feet. It is the result of Vasculitis. I also have neuritis of my scalp.

This buggy skin is almost constant. Anyone else?

Thanks

Hi. I have PNand I am experiencing dizziness, blurred vision, instability as well as extreme back pain. My neurologist and ophthalmologist say I have nystagmus which means my eyes are jumping and have a hard time focusing. I also have constant tearing and dry eyes. This is been going on for about eight years.

One of the many tests I’ve had over the last eight years was a test at Mayo Clinic with the Chair of the ENT Department. They ran multiple tests on me over about four hours, and determined I did not have BPPV but could not identify my problem. I then took a ride on the Epley Chair on another visit, and it was confirmed. I had previous head trauma from the fall in 2015. The nystagmus contributes to my dizziness.

Hi that sounds like not a fun time. Give sound therapy a try. It's free on You Tube. Look up Good Vibes on you tube the one video that really helps me and others is Miracle Nerve Regeneration #GV065 by Good Vibes. Play the video with no headphones at first and play on the lower end volume wise but sit near the speakers and play it for at least 20 minutes to 30. There are many sound healing binanural beats on you tube. Try different ones for nerve damage and PN. I hope everyone gives this a try. Take care.

I am old and a real "doubting Thomas" about these kind of things but this is amazing! I have PN and already feel better. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so happy to hear that it is helping. I doubted these kinds of videos as well until I tried them. I think sound therapy can be really helpful to people with nerve issues. I also listen to vagus nerve stimulation vids from Good Vibes and that helps to regulate my breathing and heart rate a little better. Plus a lot of these videos make you feel relaxed and can help you focus. Just a heads up I play these videos when I feel like I need them. I found playing them too much for too long can make me feel depleted. So I give it a break for a day or two and then go back but don't over do it. Anyways thanks for sharing your results I hope more people read this interaction and try it! Take care. For me overdoing it is like listening for 2 to 3 hours for a solid two weeks consistently. Everyone is different so don't let that deter you from using them.

Oh my gosh. Get me started. 1) it's not bugs, stop looking. 2) Put the rubbing alcohol, masks, gloves, spray bottle away. 3) Buy a new mattress if you need to do that. 4) just wait it out, don't scratch 5) find something to occupy your mind. 6) pamper yourself with a nice dry skin lotion that maybe smells nice. 7) I still have it not as often or intensely but every so often since I am not on chemo for years now. 8) come to think of it, this is 2023 and 23-18=5 years NED yea me! 9) use a good conditioner, good face cream, and nice lotion, stay lubricated while itchy. 10) have your liver checked

Oh my gosh. We should form a club!
My family and friends are sick of my litany of aches, pains, oh nos, what is that, and I don’t feel good…

I take SSRIs for depression and pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis.

Now it’s a new thing. I am going for a sleep study on June 13. I’m have some really weird symptoms and they want to rule out narcolepsy.
Narcolepsy is normally diagnosed when someone is a teenager. I’m 73 so who knows…it’s a brain issue so maybe the medications I have been taking for years has caused it.

I’m thinking that my bugs are nerves. I have occipital neuralgia which means that the nerves under my scalp are inflamed. That happened when my neck and skull were not aligned correctly because I bought the wrong size pillow for myself.

It’s always something!

I have had very intermittent, like 4-5 times in the past 5 1/2 years of burning scalp, like a bad sunburn and it can come down to my forehead and effect my eyes and cause my eyes to burn. It is awful when it happens, its worse than it sounds. No one has named it anything but occipital neuralgia seems like it would cover it. I had a cervical fushion at 5-6, 7 months ago. The last time I felt it was November and December of 2021. I find it interesting that you mentioned your neck and skull were not aligned correctly. I lost my lordotic curve and now aligned. I hope that was the cause. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. that’s exactly how it started. I bought a new pillow that was too high for my neck.
I hope you are doing well.
