Bulging cervical disc & constant headache and neck pain

Posted by lolomarie @lolomarie, Apr 5, 2016

I have a constant headache and neck pain (among other things). I have a bulging disc in my cervical spine which did not respond to steroid injections. Could the disc problem be causing my headaches and neck pain?

Absolutely. I suffer from constant headaches due to cervical facet joint syndrome. Try ice at the base of your skull to relieve the headaches.
100%, there's so many nerve roots/endings etc., and just the constant strain and gravity that puts one's neck in a compromising position. What options have your Dr.'s suggested? For arguments sake, lets just say its C3-4. A simple discetomy or laminectomy will relieve your pain immediately, because the pressure on the nerves will no longer be present. Plus with a relatively simple surgical procedure as I've mentioned have a pretty quick recovery time. With little if any at all Physical therapy afterwards. Best Wishes.

Has anyone told u about a rhizotomy??? I had one on spinal nerve endings at c2 to 6. Hoping to get rid of my migranes. It takes 3 weeks till they die off. And lasts around 12-18 months. It has been 2 weeks since they did my neck. Amd so far no migranes?!?! I was having migranes 20 out of 30 days! I have been migrane free for almost 3 weeks!!! Fingers crossed.....Ithink it is working! I tried every thing else and many dr. Appointments. I had a double laminectomy, 20 years ago at age 40. And have been on pain medicene every since.
I have degenerative disc disease. Just thought i would let u know incase it is something u could talk to ur doctor about. Also I no longer have pain in my shoulders and elbows. This was not surgery,it is done while u are awake. But they use a local annastatic. Hope this information is helpfull. If u need anymore information on this feel free to ask!

I had this done at my pain clinic. West pen pain clinic. In Pitts. PA don't get me wrong it wasn't Pleasant But if ur like me, I would do most anything to get rid of the headaches!!! They stuck long needles in my neck (front below my ear). But the only thing that really hurt was the shot to numb it.
But even my shoulders quit hurting. My husband Saint that my shoulders look relaxed. I guess I was holding them up tight because of the pain, but didn't even realize it! Funny what pain can do to you! Good luck! Sharon
