Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for stroke recovery or PMR
I had a ischemic stroke about two years ago and have been improving but I'm looking for a greater improvement. It has been suggested that hyperbaric oxygen therapy helps stroke victims and I find some information on the Internet saying that it can offer significant improvements. However, my primary care physician says it won't help and my rehab doctor says that her patients that have tried it found no improvement. I am interested any opinions of anyone who has tried it as to whether you felt it was beneficial or not. I'm considering a 40 hour course at 2 atmospheres.

I am glad to hear that he has made such good progress. Has he considered joining a stroke recovery group. Many of the large hospitals do offer a support group for stroke patients. By attending this support group, he will learn from others who have also had this experience. It really helps to meet others who are on the same journey.
Stroke recovery is a journey and does take time and effort. What does his current medical team say about his recovery efforts? How is he handling this major change in his life?
