Husband had Whipple 7 weeks ago for lg cyst but had significant complications. Lost 40 lbs in hospital and now lost another 9 lbs. he won’t eat. Maybe eats 1/2 hard boiled egg and bottle of fairlife protein. I am lost of what to do. He said he is full. He goes back to surgeon next week as he still has drain in from infection. Thank you

My husband would not eat either - lost 35 pounds. Also said he was full. Tried everything to get him to eat. He ended up in the hospital and was put on a feeding tube. His body had eaten most of his muscle and he had dangerously low blood pressure. They stabilized him. Before we left the hospital he asked to get a peg tube placed into his stomach to take the pressure off him. It was a HUGE blessing. The operation was pretty simple and he recovered in a few days. We started out hooking him up to a pump at night and his weight immediately stabilized. Now I feed his through bolis during the day. He eats Kate Farms Organic Glucose Support shakes now. We occasionally supplement with a small meal. After 5 months he is beginning to get a small appetite back. This peg tube in his stomach has truly saved his life. I would recommend it.
Keep an eye on Kate Farms.

FDA warns Lyons Magnus over serious violations after last year’s recall of Oatly, Organic Valley, Glucerna and other brands

As part of its enforcement activities, the Food and Drug Administration sends warning letters to entities under its jurisdiction. Some letters are not posted for public view until weeks or months after they are sent. Business owners have 15 days to respond to FDA warning letters. Warning letters often are not issued until a company has been given months to years to correct problems.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for the heads up. We thankfully have had absolutely no issues. He has been on Kate Farms for almost 6 months now. I don't know of any other supplier that provides Organic Glucose support tube feeding. I will watch him closely for any unusual symptoms.
Not sure whether this could be of use, but the Rx mirtazapine (an antidepressant) tends to increase appetite. My mother was prescribed it when she was very old and too frail; she gained a little weight on it (she had dropped to 106, which was a bit thin for 5'3''). Good luck.
