HRT (over 65 years old ) OR natural cures versus bisphosphonates
I am soon finishing 2 years of Tymlos. No gains in BMD after first year but no density loss (stayed steady)
In September I will have to make a decision what to do next to keep bone density (hopefully this second year has yielded some good results) that I have gained in the second year of Tymlos. My doctors seem very unsure what is best. I have little trust.
I have read about all the options Prolia, Recast, Evenity, oral pills.
ALL sound terrible to me. Just watched videos by Doug Lucas, and I know there is another guy out there who talks about natural cures. What is his name?

There a variety of threads under the main Osteoporosis heading that address "natural" approaches to bone health.
Not sure there is a cure for osteoporosis as it’s part of the aging process to lose bone. I did a round of Forteo, I don’t even remember how long ago…at least 20 years. Then did one infusion of Reclast. It was pretty bad. I refused to do it again and refused Prolia at that time. I maintained what I gained for 15ish years and then started losing ground fast. I opted to do Prolia and it hasn’t been too bad. Although I don’t recommend getting Prolia and 3 days later getting Rituximaub! It’s hard to tell what is causing side effects!

I feel young at 65 to have to take something for the rest of my life . Ugh!
So that’s why I’m
Curious about anybody who got to take a drug holiday of some length.
Gives me hope that maybe I can at least get a little break at some point

1 Reaction@2024tymloshelp I wouldn’t call it a true drug holiday! I just refused and did not start Prolia. It worked out for me for a long time. I was in my 30’s and did well. Now I’m 70 and can’t imagine an another fracture because I didn’t do everything I could to prevent it! I just hope I don’t get one anyway!
