@diksha Diksha I read your message again and again and honestly… I don’t think a simple ‘thank you’ will ever be enough for what you did for me
You stayed with me during a phase where I wasn’t even sure about my own future When I was scared weak mentally exhausted and fighting the hardest battle of my life u were there You gave me comfort when my mind was full of fear and gave me strength when I felt like giving up
People say difficult times show you who truly cares and for me, that person was you I’ll never forget the way you supported me prayed for me and loved me through everything
Even if life took us on different paths I will always carry respect gratitude and a soft corner for you in my heart A part of my recovery will always have your name attached to it
Thank you for saving me in ways you probably don’t even realize..💙♾️

There are a number of great books to educate yourself about glioblastoma-I have about six since my brother’s diagnosis. I it’s called Navigating Glioblastoma and Hugh Grade Glioma by Dr. Thomas Gruber. It’s spells out for patient and those who are family exactly what is ahead-surgery types, treatments, side effects etc etc. it is the best I have read out of six. Published in 2022 it is recent enough as there have been very few new treatment options for a long time. The newest information is from genetic testing done with the initial biopsy. It will tell you the truth without a lot of rainbow and unicorn wording. Just know it will give you what you need to cope with and help your guy. Glioblastoma is incurable.

Welcome to the group here at Mayo connect, just going to put this out there, I an a servant of god, not one to push my religion onto others but believe in prayer, the more groups and prayer chains the better, I'm sending out a prayer now------------- sent, and i believe anything is possible if you want it bad enough, i was one step down from glioblastoma myself and mine was cancer yet now with prayer and strength of family my lung cancer and tumor cancer is gone for now and i am recovering every day and hope that your boyfriend does too. Have a blessed day.

There is sadly no cure. GB is the worst brain cancer.

I suggest strongly that you read up on all you can about it so you will not operate from fear and can support him in a good way. I have a list of books I read on this website-if you cannot find it, I will put it up here for you. It helped me very much to understand all I can as a lay person on behalf of my family member. Knowledge really will help you.

I have glioblastoma. Last October I had brain surgery, they could take it all out, minus a surrounding hair like cells. I think radiation killed those. I had 2 MRIs later, everything is stable now. It didn’t grow back yet. Next MRI in August. I eat keto(mostly) and gluten free, everything organic, my husband makes me juice every morning. Carrots, beets, apples, and sometimes spinach, celery, chard. Depends on what’s at home. I also make smoothies with banana, blueberries, raspberries etc. we make bean /garbanzo/lentil soups with turmeric, ginger, garlic, bay leaf and other spices. I make chia pudding some days. I make unsweetened matcha green tea with unsweetened almond milk every morning. I also put mushroom powder in the soup, the master blend, turkey tale, shiitake, etc.
the most important, I exercise a lot. 45 minutes on the elliptical (3 miles), about 20 minutes in bed laying down exercise/ leg and abs. 100 repeats of each. I lost 40 pounds, and feel great. I still do chemo. 5 days chemo and 23 days no chemo / repeat /.

@isamuel i’m so sorry to hear about this, my son is 46 and has glioblastoma, they successfully removed the tumor which left deficits in his right arm and leg. He did radiation and chemo and now he’s back on heavy doses of chemo five days on 23 days off. He still has what his doctor called fingers that went into a part of his brain where they couldn’t do surgery due to motor functions the last couple days, he hasn’t been able to walk his headaches and concentration problems, and it’s described as chemo Brain, it seems to be causing more problems. Does anyone know about that issue? I’m so afraid.

@fufilou8 Sorry to hear, it’s hard to watch our kids suffer. The only affect we see in our son after 2 surgeries, radiation therapy & chemo is once in a while he easily forgets things & the trial medicine is been successful & he is able to keep a partime job only.
He felt spasm in his legs so he called his Dr. but he just advise him to take Magnesium supplement! Is your son take any medication?
