How long have you been on Orgovyx (relugolix)?

Posted by rnpalarino1 @rnpalarino1, Dec 24, 2025

Hello All:
I am asking for members to tell me how long they have been on Orgovyx. My prostate was removed (Gleason score of 9) and two years after removal my PSA numbers began to rise to .9. Scan did not detect any cancer. Oncologist put me on Orgovyx because I cannot have radiation. PSA went back to < .01. Then I went off it for about 6 months and my PSA went back up to .14. My oncologist told me to go back on Orgovyx. I want to know of others on this forum who have had similar experiences and how many times they have gone on and off Orgovyx. Merry Christmas!

Hi all, I have been on orgovox somewhere around 4 years. The decision was based on the side effects. Research has been shown orgovox to have less side effects when it comes to your heart health. For me it was hard to distinguish the side effects when also taking abiraterone. My discussion with my oncologist was the major contributor to my side effects was from the abiraterone. As we all know side effects will vary by individual. I have been fortunate that my side effect have minimized with time. I have stage 4 PC. Have been in remittance for about 6 years.

I had prostatectomy in 2013, and had radiation of the prostate bed thereafter. My PSA was .06. When my PSA was rising I told my MO that I just want to observe. But when my PSA was 5.5 in Oct 2024, my MO told me that we have to do something. I had a PET scan and the cancer cell has spread out in different parts of my body but they are small and scattered that radiation is not feasible. He told me to start taking Lupron and Zytiga. But I did some research and I read online that Orgovyx is the new medicine for prostate cancer, so that is the medicine that I suggested to my MO for me to take. He did look online and he said if I want it, he can order it for me. I started taking in Orgovyx in Oct 2024 and in Feb 2025, my PSA was .1 so I suggested to my MO that I take the Orgovyx every other day instead of everyday because it is causing a lot of pain at the back of my right leg but he did not recommend it, and that I should just drink one everyday. But in May 2025, I started drinking one every other day anyway and then my PSA rose to ,3 in Aug 2025. I then suggested to have a PET scan but he said that PET scan is not necessary when PSA is this low. I will have lab work in Feb to check my PSA. I am praying that it will be lower than .3 because I have been back to drinking one Orgovyx everyday since Aug 2025.

@boniyabes I just had lab work this week and my OSA is now .54 and I am not sure what us causing it to rise. It was .3 last Aug 2025. Maybe I will ask my
MO to prescribe me Nubeqa when I see him next month.

Hello..I am also stage 4 metastatic prostrate cancer. I began treatment three years ago with my “surgeon” performing a cryogenic procedure on my small tumor in my prostrate. My PSA AFTER 6 months indicated 27 so we decided to do another cryogenic procedure on my tumor! Waited 6 months and psa showed under 4 and this surgeon “guaranteed” he had killed the tumor! Then “comeback and see me in 6 mos” then m PSA showed I was at 11 he said I was still hot and “you are stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer” report to Oncology!!
Needless to say I was super upset as he had guaranteed the tumor was dead! Then I find out in January of 2025 I was a stage 4 metastatic prostrate patient !! Dark days ….I went to Oncology was assigned to a fantastic Oncology team. They started me on ORGOVYX and ZYTIGA plus 9 weeks M-F radiation !!! My blood tests have indicated the two drugs are controlling my cancer the last test indicated that my PSA was 0.031 so things seem to be getting better. I was told that I would be on ORGOVYX least two years and they are monitoring the ZYTIGA combination . Other than some of the side effects currently things aren’t too bad everyday intake 125 mg ORGOVYX then 1000 mg ZYTIGA , prednisone and a drugs to help with the hot flashes. So I guess I will have to play the waiting game and go to mass! The drugs do control the spread to other organs so far !
