How long does it take for Tymlos side effects to subside?

I’ve been in Tymlos for two months now and have bone pain, dizziness and just overall aches and pains. Does this get better?

@ferrer1105 I posted on another thread in response to you. The side effects are manageable for many of us. I started with two out of 8 clicks on the pen- a lower dose- and moved up. The side effects I had at first eased up over time. Much better than fractures! I have had excellent results. Good luck!

@ymv the Tymlos educator (and maybe your doctor) are constrained by what studies were based on, and also on the idea that Tymlos can be left out of the refrigerator. The Tymlos specialty pharmacy wouldn't even give me more needles to extend use past 30 days.

My doc is a top endo and said it is fine to use past 30 days until the pen is empty. I think a good middle ground is to toss the pen after an extra 14 days, as long as it has been refrigerated.

Ramping up is going to pose this question since the 30 days is based on full doses.

Make sure the pen isn't cloudy. If side effects stop entirely, maybe consider it isn't working!!!!

I did my first full 8 clicks yesterday into me I can tell you more in private convo.
Well I got a total of 8 into me for the first time ever but I woke up with a pulse sound in my ear. Do you think that’s safe and that I can proceed with more medicine today?

I am starting Tymlos on Tuesday / may I speak to you in a few days on the phone about how to use the pen ? Or do you think I should start with a lower dose?

@ferrer1105 the nausea got better for me....and eating some crackers and drinking some seltzer with juice helps me, beforehand. Good luck! Sounds hopeful!

You are lucky
I still get a fast pulse and lightheadedness. No matter what I eat or drink.

@cloud 60 I do too, some days, and other days not. You can stay at 6 or 7 clicks if that helps. For me, side effects are okay considering the alternative of more fractures!

You can easily purchase the correct needles elsewhere and they’ll likely cost far less than your pharmacy. I purchased 200 on Amazon for less than half of what I paid at the specialty pharmacy & diabetes websites offer for even less from what I’ve found when searching. Unless the needles are free just tell the pharmacy that you are purchasing elsewhere at a better price, if free and want extra just buy on your own as not very costly
