How long do I have ?

I had a tumor on my pancreas removed. All seemed to be going well but now they've discovered nodules in both lungs. What am I facing?

Hiya my name is Dave and I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. I had lung nodules they treated with SBRT in’23 and all was well until July’25. I assume you’ve had regular scans since your tumor removal as did I. My lung cancer has metastasized to my spine hips clavicles and liver. I’ve just finished radiation and I’m taking weekly chemo therapy. Maybe SBRT might be an option for you. Be glad your oncologist caught your lung nodules early and know that they are treatable. Good luck and prayers to you

Yes, after the tumor was removed from the pancreas, I was on chemo for 6
months, then visits every 3 months. Now, I don't know, the cardio approved
me for more chemo. I guess I'll do it here. I am an expat from NYC living
in Colombia. My doctor suggested I go back to NYC to try for clinical
trials but that's not doable anymore. Colombia is my home now.

Specifically, what kind of cancer do you have?

The specific type of pancreatic cancer usually determines the treatment options. For example, treating adenocarcinoma pancreatic cancer can be completely different than treating neuroendocrine carcinoma pancreatic cancer. Have you seen any reference to either of these on any of your diagnostic reports?

Adenocarcinoma.
They gave me Gemcitabina + Paclitaxel Albúmina as part of the chemo treatment.

I am sorry for the diagnostic as I had prostate cancer and now Harry Cell Lukemia, as we age it is hard to keep going but prayer and healthy living, and good mental health is the best we can do. Then the MDs and God does the rest. Blessings for you.

@robertjoseph, Sorry that you are facing a cancer diagnosis again. Lung nodules can have many different sources. They aren't usually cancerous. Because of your history, of course you have a greater chance of these being cancer, but that's not certain. I have stage IV lung cancer (five+ years now), and I have a nodule that is fungal, not cancer. It's not growing and it's not going away. My body just doesn't seem to be able to fight it off.
Please know that a second cancer or metastatic cancer doesn't have to mean that you'll be gone a year from now. It may mean a shorted life span, but treatments for any type of cancer are better than ever. There are many of us living longer and longer. It is possible!
I know you mentioned that you are in Columbia, and they likely have different protocols than the US. Knowing if this is something other than cancer, pancreatic cancer spread, or a separate lung cancer would likely impact treatment decisions. Has your doctor ordered any additional lung scans? A PET? or Biopsy?
