How Do You Treat Stomach Dumping Syndrome

Posted by johnclick @johnclick, May 3, 2023

I was extremely anxious about this condition which was causing a lot of discomfort
and embarrassment. My research found that Mayo Clinic was treating about 2,000
cases every year, so I looked up their suggested treatment, mostly dietary, which
including avoiding sweet foods. I am bedridden and had a habit of keeping a
package of mints composed of sugar. at bedside and dissolving in my mouth all day.
I have eliminated this habit and have started a diet, which includes drinking lots of water and stopping the consuming of carbonated beverages. I am confident about this planned treatment and happy to find the information.

Thanks very much for your comment. I was having similar
symptoms and chose the diet from Mayo Clinic. Unfortunately,
I chose a wrong diagnosis and have changed the diet to something
different: Lots of water, of course, but adding Honey, apples and
taking Aloe Vera. I'm on day two and surprised that some improvement
is already noticeable. I'm very happy to be with the Mayo group
and receive thoughtful aid from your comments. I plan to stay with
the group and have support for my health.

I have been trying to figure out what causes it to.
Then I realized it was the Aging Process 😮. Doesn't make me feel any better. Good to know that I am not alone. It doesn't defined who I am.

Just be careful as to when you drink water. I was told don't drink 1/2 hour before or after eating.

I have idiopathic Stomach Dumping Syndrome (the syndrome and never having had surgery). Diagnosed a couple of months ago. Now it's thrown me into Hypoglycemia..UGH! No I'm not diabetic or pre-diabetic. They are thinking it may be neurological because I have other Neuro issues. I'm changing diet, no drinking alcohol, no processed food, no sugar. More lean protein, you know the suggestions. I had a stroke almost a year ago, but I was having these issues before then. They thought it was my heart, but they did every test under the sun for my heart and found nothing. What is the best thing you've done for this condition?

What is Stomach Dumping Syndrome? I have never heard of this.

@bethyh79 Stomach Dumping Syndrome is when the food you eat does not digest enough in your stomach, it moves too quickly into your small intestine. It messes with your blood sugar and feels VERY uncomfortable with bloating, nasuea, vomiting, diahrea, and more. It is usually linked to having gastric by-pass surgery or other stomach surgery. It is rare to have without having had surgery. (I have not had surgery)

I don't have that condition, nor do I have any experience with it but it sounds like you need to start with an infant diet and then see what works for you. Start simple and add one thing at a time with frequent small meals and snacks. Bone, meat and vegetable broth or stock may give you something nutritious to drink instead of juices at first. I'm guessing raw vegetables are totally off your diet and that eggs, and eventually simple soups and stews are probably better. Ground beef and turkey over chunk meats, , apple sauce, maybe some probiotics like low-fat yogurts and rice vs pasta. I'm praying you find something that works for you.

My dr.told me that it is an infectious condition and should w a course of Vancomycin.

W Vancomycin, you will go more poops, by which the entire Gut system is cleared from its infection. It worked for me. I picked up this infection when I was hospitalized. Now, it comes and goes after this treatment.

Hope this info helps. No need to change diet drastically
w Vancomycin, the drug for Stomach dumping Syndrome.says my dr.

Good luck
