How do you clean a spirometer and how often.

Can you clean like an Aerobika and put in baby bottle steamer?

I was instructed to wash with mild soap (I use Spray Dawn) and water and let air dry daily. Then once a week to "sterilize" with either 5 minutes in 70% alcohol - or- 30 minutes in white vinegar solution.
