So I googled trouble recalling words and Aphasia popped up all over. I have migraines pretty severe. I get the botox and the trigger injections. They work somewhat…
I truly believe my migraines are related to either being hit in the front of my head with a baseball bat as a child or hormone imbalance. I’ve brought this up to my neurologist. He gave me a few works to repeat back which I did no problem. So he just relates it to being busy.
Your thoughts?
@colleenyoung yes I am concerned.. I have never had a MRI because of the metal in my mouth. However I am getting it removed so when its done I can get a MRI. I've had a CAT scan during a trip to the ER. Nothing found. I actually thought I was having a stroke thats what prompted me to the ER.
I'm having anomia from the epilepsy. I use synonyms, descriptions, and grouping. It's not a larger issue

I have an appointment with my neurologist today for botox. I'm going to ask him about it. Thanks

I had my appointment yesterday and he has ordered my a MRI.
REPLYYou need a new neurologist if he just says your busy is the reason you're having your problems. I have been given 3 words to remember by drs. I categorize, repeat in my mind or alphabetize. A pear is something you eat, tulip's a flower, and courage is a feeling. The speech pathologist wanted me to remember rose, sweater, and hamburger. I'm having anomia where the word is on the tip of my tongue and I have to use synonyms. I had a concussion at age 2 hitting my head on a tv, but I was told from an MRI that I had a lesion on left temporal lobe that formed b/c my mom had a fever during the pregnancy. I'm glad he's ordering an MRI. My advice is to let Jesus take the wheel

my mri showed a lesion on the left temporal lobe of the brain. My mom had a fever during pregnancy and I also fell hit my head on a tv and got a concussion and soon after had my 1st tonic clonic seizure and was put on tegretol which can damage your liver.I went to the hospital and they did an eeg. The lesion wasn't discovered until I was in my 20's by the mri
The 1st thing I would ask is to explain what everything means b/c you're not a dr and neither am I

I had aphasia from taking topiramate. It is one of the known side effects of it. Search your meds to see if any of them list trouble recalling words as a side effect.

@decarlo7, while you passed the word test that you did with the neurologist, do you find yourself having trouble recalling words in general?
