How can I help my Grandson who has been diagnosed with Autism?
Although I have fathered 6 children who are now adults and successful my Daughter-in-law feels I am not taking my Grandsons Autism diagnosis seriously. I have researched and complied with all the suggestions found, Still she will not let my Grandson visit my home.

I have a 7yr old grandson with autism none verbal but coming along well but very aggressive when he doesn't get what he wants all autism is different good luck
I know how you feel. I wanted to take a walk with our g-son but was told that they were afraid if he starts to run that we would not be able to catch him. The parents anticipate things that the child automatically does, then they consider are age and lack of mobility or understanding of how to handle different situations. We take pleasure in buying him gifts so he knows we care. I try to buy books that I think he might enjoy or workbooks that he can handle. At times I wonder if they are over protected of him but they are the parents and know him better than I do.
Just being there and available to help the family is a huge blessing. Every little bit helps a family with a child with autism.
