Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Autism (ASD) Support Group.

Perhaps go to a local mental health clinic to find out what services are available .You should have had a have a detailed psychological and cognitive assessment usually from a clinic specializing in Autism and mental health issues
With this they can recommend what types of interventions you need to be functional in your day to day living . If it’s difficulties with noise or attention or anxiety, these are the people who can direct you to most appropriate places

Have you accepted the fact that your autistic??, I dont know what support is available for you as I live in Australia. have you thought about maybe starting a support /social group. Its hard for level 1 as they are often seen as being functioning /intelligent so therefore dont need help

@ellierwin Welcome to the autism support group! I see you have been posting in the epilepsy group, also.

Was your diagnosis done in a formal setting? If so, you may be eligible for some benefits. I am curious what led to testing in the first place?

Here is a link to discussing different levels of autism, from Autism Speaks: https://www.autismspeaks.org/levels-of-autism They have a great amount of information on their website that you might find helpful. How are you feeling about this diagnosis? I am also on the autism spectrum, diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome. It seems now they call that Level One! It is my personal belief that we can experience life on a spectrum of reactions, and not everyday do we feel we fit that definition of different levels. We are still unique individuals.

How are you doing today?

I found out on my neuropsychologist evaluation

I don't think there are levels per say however, there is a spectrum as everyone with autism aren't the same

@gdndiva autism isn't mental and places like they can really mess you up as they're generally clueless. there are autism places you can contact for help. like autism society. You can Google them .

@gingerw there isn't an Asperger's anymore. It's now autism spectrum, everyone is in different places on the spectrum.

Asperger's diagnosis was removed in 2013 ,they don't use that diagnosis any longer

@19281928 Well, I guess I am old school, then. My formal diagnosis came over a decade ago. It was a comfort to finally understand the difficulties I had faced for so long. Things finally made sense!
