High Ferritin Levels with low iron levels.
I have a Ferritin level of 2114.14 but my iron levels are within normal limits. I have been told by my doctor that it is Hemochromatosis, but I don't have the markers in the genetic test. It has increased with 470 from Oct 2025 until May 2026. I was also told it was from chronic alcohol use, but I don't drink. When I was 18, 51 years ago, I drank but not excessive. Hopefully someone can tell me what is going on.

I have the same problem. My ferritin was in 3000 when sick and being treated for lymphoma. I went through months of being anemic, they thought had hemolytic anemia. I was given blood which increased ferritin . After treatment from lymphoma, it dropped to 1000, but needed phlebotomy. It’s around 500 after several months. They just don’t know what is causing, best answer I get is inflammation somewhere. I’m not a drinker and lived a healthy lifestyle. They found mild iron now in liver, will start back w/phebotomy. This is frustrating..hopefully you will find answer. One Oncologist said lymphoma could be behind it or another disease .
Could be due to some chronic disease or inflammation.
Sometimes increased with high BMI.
Check your inflammatory markers.
Recently, my ferritin tested at 315,000, so it's high. But, my iron is normal, at 107,000.
