Call your doctor’s office and speak to a nurse. Or if you have a mychart send a message. The doctor needs to hear from you it’s not working so he can come up with another plan. The Rosuvastatin is a generic for Crestor a cholesterol lowering drug, I don’t know how much that will help with b/p immediately. I read a study that it could help over time possibly. Post back to let us know how it worked out. Prayers for improved B/P
I have been taking losartan and amlodipine for chronic kidney disease (also have mild concentric LVH. Blood pressure still wide-ranging. Now taken off amlodipine and put on low dose of spironolactone. If it doesn't raise potassium I will have it increased. Anyone taking spironolactone? Will find out this week.
You are eating too much meat, cheese, dairy, animal products. Need more fresh fruits and veggies. Too much bread and sweets and processed foods. You do not need meds. Need to change your diet.
Takes time for medications to work Not sure about these medications but a quick look up might answer your question. Also doctors will usually start you out on the lowest dose . Make an appointment or call the nurse in his or her office . Best Health
Well don’t know if her diet is good or bad but there are plenty of slim patients in my cardiologist office with lots of issues . And I sure there not all related to diet . Lots of new research coming out about the old pyramid diet plan . I don’t support a high fat ,high carb diet by any means . Diet can certainly help people feel better ,be more active not sure it will end her blood pressure issues .
People who do not eat much or any animal products do not have blood pressure issues. Have read for years. You do not need to be overweight to have the problem. I eat very little and if anything my blood pressure is at times too low and so I add a bit. I personally know people who were taking a handful of meds a day, and in time did not need any when went on whole foods plant based diet.
Many years ago in my 20's, I gave a nutrition class in my church. A man that went said that he had just gone to doctor and the doctor had already increased his blood pressure meds two times and told him he would have to again if it did not come down. In a couple of months of changing his diet alone, he went for test and the doc took him off his meds and said he had the blood pressure of any 18 yr old.
