High Blood Pressure Evenity
Hello, I am in my 70's and have always had low blood pressure. I have had 9 doses of Evenity, and since the second dose, my BP has been high. I didn't make the association at first. Now, I am wondering if it is safe to take the next 3, or to change to Reclast now. I hate to start taking meds for the BP as I am on other meds for RA. Has anyone had high blood pressure after starting Evenity and how did you handle it?
Thank you.

I haven't experience with Evenity, but there was a discussion that might be interesting. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/increase-in-bp-while-using-evenity
At nine doses you have already the best that Evenity can offer. The strongest bone response is within the first 6 months.
I'd switch.
If you transition to Reclast let us know if the blood pressure returns to normal.

2 ReactionsThank you. My endo said she preferred that I keep on Evenity to finish the course and take BP meds if needed. I am checking with my PCP to see what she thinks.
@aspirecreative thanks so much for asking this question. I will have my last dose of evenity in three weeks and was wondering why my systolic bp was increasing. I’m 81 years old and have had a broken pelvis 6years ago and a broken femur in 2024. I hesitate taking any more medications!
I had normal blood pressure until after my second shot of Evenity ? It kept rising and the staff at my cancer clinic (while getting infusions weekly for 9 months said "white coat syndrome" which made no sense. I have never been anxious about doctor visits. After 6 months of Evenity my BP spiked to 179/132 and I went to the ER. It turned out I had an aneurysm and a TIA (two days apart). The Endocrinologist immediately quit giving me Evenity and my cancer clinic stopped my infusions. They put me back on Prolia. For the record, my bone density DEXA scan showed that my bones were in worse shape after 6 months of Evenity, not better. I don't know why. I am 75 with Multiple Myeloma Cancer and 12 fractured vertebrae in my spine. Also broke 2 ribs just moving my arm a few inches as requested at the beginning of my latest bone marrow biopsy.
