Hemorrhagic stroke: What have you experienced afterward?

Methel. Glad you are doing well. Except for the chronic headaches, my brother seems to have had no lasting damage from his hemorrhagic stroke. But the debilitating headaches are stalling a return to his very active retirement. I should add that he had bad headaches months leading up to the stoke. A MRI was ordered and nothing unordinary showed up. Then, one day in October he had a headache so bad he BEGGED to be brought to the hospital. They put him in MRI, and a blood clot was visible. Neurosurgeon said that because of its location, intervention was impossible. He had a neurologist treating him in the Neuro ICU hospital who had done a stroke fellowship, so he got great care. (He is of normal weight, non-smoker, and has normal BP.)

I learned in a hospital stroke survivors support group that hemorrhagic strokes are more likely to kill you and overall much less common, but if you live, your recovery is likely to be more complete than from the more common kind of stroke.

For my personal experience. I recovered almost completely, with very little effort, from a hemorrhagic stroke which almost killed me.

My brother had a bleed deep in his brain in October. The neurologist in the neuro ICU told him he would probably have headaches for several months until the blood matter dissolved. He had a MRI in January and it showed the blood gone. However, now he finds himself having bad headaches again. He will see neurologist this week.
