Help with what to bring to a friend with stage 4,

Posted by truly520 @truly520, Sep 21, 2025

Hi, I’ll be visiting a friend between chemo treatments. She is having a lot of pain and bowel issues. Horrible constipation. She doesn’t drive but I do, can anyone recommend some things I can bring her to alleviate the issues? I’m at a loss. Thank you!

When my father was going through treatment, he took Miralax daily to help with constipation. It was really a guessing game each day trying to figure out what his body needed or how it would react. He was also on oxycodone and a fentanyl patch, which definitely made things worse in that department.

If your friend is dealing with similar issues, small comforts can really help --things like gentle teas, electrolyte drinks, or easy-to-digest foods. Honestly, anything that brings comfort or eases the day-to-day routine- soft pajamas, warm socks/compression socks, magnesium soaks, or just meals that don’t upset the stomach- goes a long way. Best of luck sending positivity!

@ro0891 thank you, but unfortunately my friend passed away. I did get to see her before she passed.

@truly520 , I'm sorry to hear about the loss of friend. I bet it was a comfort to both her and you that you were able to see her before she passed. Sending you a virtual hug.
