help with motor-assisted leg execise machines

Posted by llanfi @llanfi, Mar 16 9:48pm

There are many motor-assisted foot and ankle exercise machines that provide stepping movements that might help with meurapathy.
Please let me know if they are helpful!
Thanks,
Llanfi

@llanfi - I've bought several different types of these over the past 5 or 6 years but more for the exercise and they really didn't help with my neuropathy numbness symptoms. I think anything you do to help maintain your foot/leg strength is helpful for maintaining mobility. The last one I tried was a lateral foot exerciser which is now in the junk pile 🙃 mainly because I wasn't coordinated enough to use it. I think it would be better for foot and ankle strength but I just couldn't get the hang of making it work with my feet.

Hi John,
I have been looking for a floor model foot/leg exerciser. You mention you have used several over the years. Is there one or two that you might recommend?

TIA,
Kay

Hi,
I puchased one from Amazon. The styles change all the time, but I was careful to buy one with a remote control and sturdy foot pedals. The one I purchased is quite big and heavy. also the foot pedals are plastic wihout any padding and that makes it uncomfortable. On the whole the one shown in my picture seems to be one of the best. I got it from Amazon as a used in "very good" condition for less money. It seems to be OK and working well. But I find it clumsy under the desk and will probably use it independently of and not while using my PC.
Thanks for your interest!

@ohkay2 - I used one similar to this but can't remember the brand. The one I had was not motorized because I think it's better to use your leg muscles for the exercise. - https://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Health-Fitness-Exerciser-Function/dp/B0CD9LSV9T/.

The worst one I bought was a Scoop - https://www.amazon.com/SCOOP-Lateral-Trainer-Package-Exercise/dp/B09TS26SGM because it just was too awkward when trying to pedal. My wife wasn't able to use it either.
