Help..What Causes Pain Behind Your Thighs???
I'm 70 and have a lot of degenerative spine and joint issues but now a new pain has cropped up. When I sit the backs of my thighs really become VERY sore/painful. It gets much better as soon as I stand up but I can't stand for long so spend a lot of time in a wheelchair or other chairs. Anyone know what could cause that kind of pain?

Bursitis discovered when I was taking PT for after effects of hip replacement surgery. Hard time walking on cement like Costco, sidewalks etc. Have not been able to work out in pool since November 2017 so it is worse. Have developed RLs and Peripheral Neuropathy in meantime. Have three degenitive discs in back for which I have recently received an epidural but will need another as it did not completely relieve pain. Am an active 82 year old female.
Hi
I am 63 and have spinal issues from the cervical to lumbar spine.
I get the pain, too. For me, it comes from my lumbar spine. It have spinal stenosis with major issues in L5/6. In the last couple of months I have fallen twice. Thank goodness nothing broke.
I've been taking steroid shots for several years but my last 3 shots have not worked. I just had disc replacement surgery on my cervical spine and I was doing well until I fell and inflamed my neck. That is coming along. I had a consult with my neuro-surgeon and we have decided to do surgery on L5/6. First, he wants me to have PT. I will start that next week. In the meantime, my physical therapist felt I need to use a cane for balance to help prevent falls. She did wonders with my cervical spine, I am hoping she will help strengthen my core. After 6 weeks of PT, the neuro-surgeon and I will decide which lumbar spine surgery I will have.
Hope you have a pain free day....

Good Luck! Surgery is something I wish to avoid at all costs and if I get back in the pool next week, had planned on this week but had a ton of appointments, I know the walking in the pool will help as it has for 15 years. Or I'll have to admit I am just getting old at 82.
