Help gloppy jelly like clear phlem still after 2 years

Posted by coughingjenny @coughingjenny, Nov 19, 2022

Hi. Im beyond upset with what i have been experiencing since 2020. Broken ankle sending me to a Polish hospital during covid in Poland and soon after having brown to thick and jelly like phlem. Having no health insurance paying out of pocket to no conclusion. Then onto living in germany with health insurance having doctors who told me to inhale vapors. Never checking the true cause. Then got the shot. Onto living in Spain paying for health insurance going with a container of my gloppy jelly plem. To being so grossed out from the doctor's look not even knowing what in the world it is. Again no conclusion. Now living in Hungary no health insurance again. Coughing plem morning noon and night. And bringing my spit rags to bed. 2 years on. Did anyone else go thru this and still. Please no nasty comments. Im really suffering.

Have you tried nebulizing saline solution? A nebulizer is a small machine that converts a liquid into a mist. I nebulize two times a day. In addition, I would be checked for a NTM infection. (It is a special type of lung infection.)
P.S. I'm not a doctor.

Excess mucus production can be a common symptom with something such as asthma. (This impacts me on occasion as I have lingering asthma-like symptoms from long-Covid). My doctors aren’t worried about the mucus if it’s clear or white. But if it’s consistently brown long-term, you need to seek out a pulmonologist (or respirologist as it’s called in some countries). You would benefit from a chest X-ray or CT scan and have sputum samples tested.
