Help finding questions to ask physicians about my symptoms.

Posted by ccharisem83 @ccharisem83, Feb 2, 2023

I have had a crazy amount of diverse symptoms since I was a little girl. I have yet receive a for sure diagnosis. Athough I have mostly adjusted to my symptoms over the years so I can tolerate them, over the last few months my health has deteriorated even more. I have chronic pain in joints, headaches, seizures but not epilepsy, fatigue, sensitivity to light and temperature changes ( heat is the worst), upper abdominal pain with symmetrical point tenderness (marble sized lumps), nausea, feeling full after eating small amounts, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, hair loss. Physicians I have seen won't look at my symptoms as a whole although I feel they are all connected somehow.

Hello @ccharisem83, Welcome to Connect. I think it's a great idea to make a list of questions to take to the doctors appointment so that you can hopefully find answers. One site that will help you plan that discussion is the Patient Revolution - https://patientrevolution.org/visit-tools.

I'm wondering if these two discussions might be helpful to see if some of your symptoms line up with what other members have shared:

-- Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) treatments: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/myalgic-encephalomyelitis-chronic-fatigue-syndrome-me-cfs-treatments/

Have you thought about seeking help or a second opinion at a teaching hospital or major health facility like Mayo Clinic?
