Heart transplant when home is far from Mayo.

Hi - I am interested to learn how others have managed a heart transplant when living more than 6 hours away from Mayo.

I am due to be admitted to Jacksonville for a heart transplant. I’ve had literally years to get up to speed on the process before and after the surgery.

What I haven’t learned yet is what happens 6 months or more afterwards. How does distance impact my access to care?

How do folks manage such a situation?
