Heart arrhythmia causing fainting - what's next?

Hi🙏, I’m Griselle I just joined this group today I only hope to get some help here. I’m having serious health issues that causes me heart arrhythmia., I was treated for 25 yrs with my neurogastoenterologist who kept me in good health but he retired in 2021, since I’m desperately looking for a doctor who can fully understand and respect my 25 yrs of treatment for my motor dysfunctional gastrointestinal syndrome., I have gone from one doctor to the next and no one want to prescribe me my medications to avoid fainting.
I’m looking for help here.

Hello @griselle1958,

I updated your title to "Heart arrhythmia and fainting - what's next?" and moved it to the Heart Rhythm Conditions support group. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/heart-arrhythmia-causing-fainting-whats-next/.

@griselle1958, while we wait for other members to share some of their experiences, is your fainting a result of your arrhythmia or your motor dysfunctional gastrointestinal syndrome?

Why would you not be seeing a cardiologist for you heart arrhythmia and fainting.

These sound like a cardiology and electrical issue (arrhythmia). There are many many medications out there to help with both, but you need to be adequately diagnosed of what is causing your arrhythmias and fainting.

Hi Griselle
I had been experiencing dizziness and falls over the past years. My PCP referred me to a cardiologist who did a very thorough workup on me. She then referred me to an electrophysiologist/cardiologist. They then determined that I was falling bc of my afib. I was momentarily blacking out and falling. It was so instantaneous that I didn't realize it. I had several procedures done and now am fall and dizziness free. Find an excellent EP/cardiologist and explore this possibility.
Good luck and God Bless.

Bradycardia is a too slow heartbeat (but it presents erratically) and that might also be your condition. I had the fainting and dizziness too but it was fixed with a pacemaker. The testing showed that my heart was stopping briefly too. You need to see a cardiologist asap.
