Hearing loss post Covid

Has anyone else ever heard of or experienced hearing loss in either or both ears post Covid? I have Bronchiectasis & NSIP with fibrosis, and tested positive for Covid on 9/19/24.the first week or two were the hardest, but then slowly started to recover. Then all of a sudden I lost the hearing quite a bit in my left ear and only slightly in my right. My PCP states that the excess fluid from sinuses due to Covid also will flow to the middle ear also along with the lungs (mucus of course). This does make sense. And in theory when I sleep it’s primarily on my left side compared to my right. But has anyone else experienced or heard of this as far as Post Covid symptoms. My PCP says should clear up on its own, revisit the office if not clear in 4 weeks. Any advice on this? Thank-you all. Stay healthy

My 38 year old daughter developed an ear infection post covid about 6 months ago. She has also experienced hearing loss in one ear. She was with her doctor yesterday who is sending her to an ear specialist as her infection has cleared ages ago but the hearing loss remains.

I got covid around Labor Day last year, experienced reduced hearing afterwards. My ENT said I had white mucus behind my eardrum blocking fluid, a common occurrence with covid. She cleared it and hearing returned.

How did she clear it?

@spider109 she made a tiny slot in my eardrum (after numbing), then inserted a little aspirator, and vaccumed it. It was very quick and effective.
best wishes of great health!

Thank/ you for your answer, I think I’ll have an idea what to expect then if it doesn’t clear on its own. Wish you good health too
