Healing Ridge- Horizontal Whipple Procedure Incision

Posted by dtkach37 @dtkach37, 9 hours ago

I had a Whipple procedure on Feb 11th (11 weeks ago) with a horizontal incision across my stomach just under my rib cage. I've noticed for several weeks now a lump just above the incision on the right side that is accompanied with off and on mild pain like a pulled muscle esp when sitting or standing up. I haven't seen my surgeon since week 4 but his office says this is normal. I've researched it and believe it is a healing ridge.
I'm asking those who have experienced this when did this start to subside for you and the pain go away. This is really the only thing that is holding me back from certain activities like starting to play golf again. Thank you.
