Welcome to the Headache & Migraine support group on Mayo Clinic Connect.

If you or someone you care about has headaches or migraines, this is a great place to talk with others with similar experiences. It’s a welcoming forum to learn from each other and share stories about challenges, coping strategies, setbacks and what helps.

Take these steps to participate in the group:

  • Follow the group.
  • Browse topics.
  • Use the group search to find answers to your questions.
  • Introduce yourself.

Pull up a chair and chat. Why not start by introducing yourself? What is your experience, or your loved one’s experience, living with headache or migraine (i.e., what type, how long since diagnosis, how it’s managed)? Have a question, tip or story to share?

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Headache & Migraine Support Group.

Sure. Hope it helps. It has saved me. I can’t quite say that for my doctors.

I wonder though, they say, 20 minutes of ice or heat at a time.

The only thing I can suggest is buying WellMigraine Cool Patches on Amazon. You put them on your forehead, they numb the pain like an ice patch. I then put a baseball cap on, which hides the patch and then I can at least go outside. Without these patches, I couldn't function.

Yes, yes, yes. I have had a daily persistent headache for 5 yrs/9 mos every day/all day. Docs cannot figure it out and it has ruined my life. I spend my days on the couch with ice on my head. I try to exercise in my home in-between couching it. I am so sorry for both of us.

I am a 61 year old female and have had headaches as far back as about 8- 10 years old not sure of the young age but I do remember little blue pills, little red pills but as of today, not one day as gone by the I have been with out a headache. I wake up with them and go to bed with them, not one day of my life have I not had a headache. Did EEG's a few times, CT Scans and many different types of pills. Currently Klonopin better then nothing at all. They called the Daily Chronic Headaches to Cluster headaches. Anyone else with the same issues and suggestions. I also suffer with Afib so medications as I get older scare me since I had 1 antiphallic shock ( I think I spelled correctly) so new meds make me nervous now. Anyone else with the same headache issues?

Is the B12 by tablet or do you get injections. If by tablet what brand do you buy?
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm 79 and have taken one B12 1000 mcg tablet daily for many years. The brand is Nature Made. They work good and with no side effects that I've noticed.

Ask your doctor for a prescription. Maybe it will be free.

The B12 is by tablet, and the brand is Jamieson. I had originally purchased the Weber brand for the B2, then got the Jamieson and realized that these tablets (same strength) were much smaller than the Weber, so easier to swallow. I started the B12 after starting the B2 and went right away for the Jamieson. That being said, I don’t know if the same applies here, but I suspect that it probably does.

I would like to bring a correction to my previous post . The Vitamin B12 dose is 1000 mcg three times a week.
