HEAD PAIN

Posted by paulagcl @paulagcl, Jul 14, 2023

I am feeling some sensitivity even in my teeth and jaws and head -- I wouldn't call it pain, but it'd definitely different and did have some headaches a few days ago. My doctor is keeping an eye on this and I am afraid I am progressing to GCA and am freaking out. Other than that I am having no pain otherwise on the prednisone and kevzara I'm on.

The prednisone is to keep the inflammation at bay so we don't get GCA. If you don't have the PMR pain, it's likely that is from something else. Did he suggest Tylenol? Is it possible you are getting a tooth or more likely an ear infection as those pains can radiate? I was an oral surgery assistant in the Army many moons ago so I do know of what I speak.

It seems different. It's not bad enough for even Tyelenol and not sure I would even notice it except for now having turned hypervigilant. Thank you for your help!

More than 3 years ago, I complained about my teeth bothering me plus I thought my TMJ acted up. I cannot tell you how many dentists, etc. I went to. I also had a new night guard made and it did not change anything,
Lo and behold, I developed an awful headache which I suffered with for 4 months because no doctor knew what to do with me. Finally, it was the blood work that showed things were not normal. I, then, went for a temporal biopsy and that proved positive for GCA.
I am wondering if you are on the correct amount of Prednisone.
Please stay on top of things and be proactive. Wishing you only the best.
