Has aquatherapy helped you with chronic pain?
I have been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, severe levoconvex scoliosis, osteoporosis and arthritis. Have a great deal of pain in low back and hips. Dr. Has prescribed aqua therapy. I'm worried it will make pain worse. Has anyone out there had relief from their pain with this type of therapy?

Yes, aquatherapy PT has helped me with chronic pain, has added confidence in movement, and joy in being able to stand and move through the water. Since severe polyneuropathy has hindered my walking, I found I could swim without assistance, and hope to build on that strength by returning to my aquacize classes, and regular swimming at other times.
Your doctor should order the PT to cover any expense, and if your insurance denies coverage, appeal, but get in the pool!
