Has anyone tried Ketamine for severe pain management?

Posted by fanning @fanning, Dec 8, 2024

We have a Ketamine Clinic opening near me. It is an old friend and ER doctor I have known and trusted for years. It is an off label use but it has according to him, been found to be very successful. Although I trust him very much and have known him professionally for 30 years, I would like to know if anyone has tried it in this group??

Thank you in advance for sharing.

I have severe neuropathic pain in my legs from FBSS and now take oral Ketamine which does a great job relieving the pain.

Can you use ketamine if you are taking opioids?

I have because the ketamine I’d used for the neuropathic pain (pins and needles or like fire ants chewing on my legs). Ketamine has no relief for nerve pain like sciatica. At least it doesn’t for me.

20mg four times a day as needed.
It’s compounded by a specialty pharmacy. Insurance doesn’t cover.
For a month supply I pay $80 or so.
Not legal in some states. I don’t know which states. I live in IL.
