Went thru similar presentation with a chiropractor. Nonsense! They have become money making machines that claim to be able to heal anything.
My help came with an inversion table. The traction has worked for years. Now I use it every few months if I feel any leg pain start

I tried some sort of inversion gizmo years ago(2016) for my lower back sun. I didn’t feel any relief.
How well did it work for you?

Dear @baconbeast
A little year ago a had surg??? on my lower back. He worked my nerve - a big one and hit my back. He fixed it and my bone away my nerve. And the pain is gone… well, he gave me decompressioun (sp?) on my back 20-30 minutes twice a day. I used this for 9 mths. He gave me strength of my lower back. After that “normal” back was back. I have changes my back-side to stretch on my body. I’ve exercised for the last 3 years but it took me 9 mtgs after my back.

Inversion devise I used first was uncomfortable compared to my inversion table but inversion for traction has worked well for me. That and a daily routine of stretching that I continue to do everyday.

I went to a chiropractor about three years ago who advertised this procedure. His "nation-wide" company had invented this decompression device that was supposed to " decompress your discs and restore their natural state over the course of several weeks". Sounded too good to be true. He wasn't happy with my MRI that showed no significant disc problems. He said that he could get me into a local imaging center for a CT scan right away, cash only. Away we hurried, had the scan, and returned to his office. He called us in and proceeded to point out all the terrible problems with my discs. He said it was imperative that I start the decompression therapy asap. Oh, no, insurance doesn't cover it. A special to day is $9800 for the three weeks of therapy and "special" nutrient drinks that help nourish the discs. No worry. We are partnered with a finance company and can get you set up today so you can get started today. We went home, rethought the whole thing and decided to skip it.

See any red flags here? 1. MRI not adequate, CT better. 2. In cahoots with local imaging center. 3. Pointing out all the bad disc problems when the MRI had not. 4. The need to hurry and start asap. 5. Not covered by insurance. Very high price for non-surgical procedure. 6. Financing available on site

Think very hard before considering this kind of procedure. Do your due diligence. There are so many scammers out there looking to take your hard earned money, without thinking twice.

It is because I've run in to others like this that I tend to stay away from Chiropractors. Maybe there are some that are actually not only good at what they do, but know the limits of what they cannot/should not do (I was treated by one many years ago for a knee issue & he was wonderful. He was just finishing school & the others in that school said he had "magic hands. He moved away though).

What I dislike are the chiropractors that want you to come 3x week for life. Certainly not all do this, but many do

If you are referring to VAX D which chiropractors are selling and has been plastered all over media, it is basically a very expensive traction table which won't be allowed by insurance. Research in refereed journals has indicated no efficacy. Save your money and go see a back specialist orthopedist or neurosurgeon.
