I went to a chiropractor about three years ago who advertised this procedure. His "nation-wide" company had invented this decompression device that was supposed to " decompress your discs and restore their natural state over the course of several weeks". Sounded too good to be true. He wasn't happy with my MRI that showed no significant disc problems. He said that he could get me into a local imaging center for a CT scan right away, cash only. Away we hurried, had the scan, and returned to his office. He called us in and proceeded to point out all the terrible problems with my discs. He said it was imperative that I start the decompression therapy asap. Oh, no, insurance doesn't cover it. A special to day is $9800 for the three weeks of therapy and "special" nutrient drinks that help nourish the discs. No worry. We are partnered with a finance company and can get you set up today so you can get started today. We went home, rethought the whole thing and decided to skip it.

Can you describe what you mean by decompression proceedure? I had surgical decompression of C5-T1 . A 7 hour operation requiring both a neurosurgeon and a spine surgeon after a bad car accident caused burst fractures and quadriplegia.
