Has anyone tried Botox for headaches?
Was Botox successful? My doctor wants me to try it again. It did not work 8 years ago. I worry about the toxicity and my glaucoma and macular degeneration. Eye doc says it's okay, but they aren't his eyes.

Avoid close to your eyes. I asked my doctor to not do anywhere near my eyes. It is toxic and your sight is essential.

1 ReactionWho's "ranking" it? People go there expecting miracles and get disappointed.
Mayo Clinic is ranked as the best hospital in the world. The clinic in Minnesota.
@reneemarie60 - when you had the eyebrow thing occur last time with the
botulinum toxin (Botox), did you get to ask the doctor about this effect? If so, what did he or she say about it - preventing or addressing it when it ever appears?
Yes it worked very well for me, and I ceased the daily headache fuzz and migraines. It even gave me a super smooth fotehead but after about a year it made one of my eyebrows much higher then the other and I looked quite odd. I stopped because of insurance issues. I wasn't getting frequent/bad migraines for quite awhile so didn't resume. Now I started getting them again the last 6 months so considering it again but hoping there would be a way to avoid the weird eyebrow thing.

1 ReactionI had Botox 3 times & no help.
I'm in Nebraska, the distance to any Mayo clinic is one reason I haven't gone, also really don't know what they could do that I haven't already tried.
Where do you live? I have a friend who tried Mayo with no luck. They sent her back to Philly to our Headache Center - Jefferson.
I too have tried Botox, helped at first but hasn't helped the last time done at all. I have been dealing with daily headaches and frequent migraines for 40 years. I have tried so many medications with no relief. Relpax does help sometimes. I am currently on day 5 of migraine, went for tornado shot and phenergan at urgent care, helped for a few hours but awoke with severe pounding headache again. I have been approved for SSDI thankfully as it makes it so hard to work with continuous migraines (as well as back issues). I have have been to multiple doctors, pain specialist, etc. might see about getting appt at Mayo to see if they can make any suggestions to get relief.
