Has anyone not used medication after First Dexa scan spine -2.8?
I am 57, 5'2" and 110 pounds and have just had my first DEXA scan spinal -2.8 osteoporosis, femoral neck and hips -1.3. I exercise and eat well. I did go through surgical menopuase at 50. I have a blocked LAD artery and use injections of repatha for this. I am giving all these details because I really don't want to start any of these medications and wondering if anyone has ignored pressure from doctors, all of mine are encouraging Reclast. I am scared and tired of looking at all the pros and cons of everything. thank you in advance

Thank you! Sounds like it might be out for me. Already on Tymlos…
@dorob
I think there is a difference between promise and results…
Don’t really see where before and after tscores or BMD numbers are shown.
Overview of Shilajit
Shilajit is a natural substance found primarily in the Himalayan mountains, formed over centuries from decomposed plant material. It is rich in fulvic acid, which is believed to contribute to its potential health benefits.
Potential Health Benefits
Shilajit is associated with several health benefits, largely attributed to its fulvic acid content. These include:
Antioxidant Properties: Helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
Anti-inflammatory Effects: May reduce inflammation in the body.
Neuroprotective Effects: Potentially beneficial for cognitive health, particularly in conditions like Alzheimer's disease.
Energy and Stamina: Claims suggest it may enhance physical performance and reduce fatigue.
Hormonal Support: Some studies indicate it might help increase testosterone levels.
Scientific Evidence
While shilajit shows significant promise, the scientific evidence is still emerging. Key points include:
Preliminary Studies: Some small studies support its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Need for Robust Trials: More extensive clinical trials are necessary to confirm its safety and efficacy across diverse populations.
Conclusion
Shilajit is gaining attention for its potential health benefits, particularly due to its fulvic acid content. However, further research is essential to validate these claims and ensure safe usage.

Thank you again

Thank you for your support. I’m hoping to find another doctor. They all will want to start some sort of medication. I don’t think any doctor would support supplements and exercise only unless it’s a homeopathic practitioner

If "their medications" means osteoporosis medications like tymlos, forteo, evenity, fosomax, reclast and Prolia, then most people who take them do not have side effects. Most people who are using sites like these are experiencing side effects and are searching for answers to what treatment will work for them.
You might enjoy a group called OsteoBoston which is free and has wonderful on all topics concerning osteoporosis. They have a Zoom meeting each month (tomorrow is the next one) and then they are posted on YouTube.
If you want to receive updates from them, email Shelley at osteoboston@gmail.com.
Are you willing to share your dexa scores with the group here?

If you are talking about a vibration plate then go up the page to search 🔎 and type vibration plates.
Their is a great piece on melioguide.com about them

4 Reactions@rose140 Most of them do, but that just isn't enough, especially if the osteoporosis is severe. Mine all recommend supplements and exercise IN ADDITION to the bone shots. Weight bearing exercise is very important. Good luck in finding the right doctor you trust.
