Has anyone here NOT gained weight from Forteo or Tymlos?

Hi,
I just started taking a teriparatide medication yesterday and now I'm kind of freaking out as I read all reports from people who have gained lots of weight from these medications. Has anyone here not gained weight as a result of teriparatide?

@cherraven I've felt dizzy and faint, but fortunately not depressed. I hope it passes for you ❤️

I've been on Forteo for 18 months. No weight gain or change in weight.

Had just about all the side effects from Tymlos, except weight gain. Tolerated for a month, but the exhaustion and leg aches were the last straws. On Forteo now , which is so very similar to Tymlos, and doing a lot better. Had some leg aches , but my endo has me doing every other day dosing for a bit, and the aches have subsided. Will likely try to go back to daily dosing soon. Hoping to be able to stay on this, with a spinal score of -3.6.

@mamabear77 I'm sorry you've been having a tough time with it, but glad Forteo has been a bit of an improvement. Did the pain start as soon as you began the medication or did it come on a bit later? I just started a week ago and so far I haven't had any pain, but I've heard it can develop later.

I’ve been on forteo for a year. I lost weight! Did have some aches and pains but those seem to have subsided. Only symptom for me now is fatigue.

@jdrosen8 I'm glad the pain subsided. Good luck with the rest of your treatment!

I took Tymlos for almost 6 months, but stopped before the full year was up because I lost my appetite and lost weight. That was over a year ago. When I recently had an x-ray of my back, they accidentally found out that I had kidney stones. Never having had one before, and having no family history of kidney stones, I did some research and see that Tymlos can cause them.
"Tymlos (abaloparatide) can increase calcium levels in both the blood (hypercalcemia) and urine (hypercalciuria), which may increase the risk of developing new or worsening existing kidney stones. "
I reported it to the manufacturer and all my doctors. Hopefully this will help others who are losing their appetites and/or losing weight, which can be a sign of hypercalcemia.
